Health & Safety: A Fundamental Value
For LAVA, safety constitutes a fundamental value and a top priority in all of our activities. Since 2002, HERACLES Group has achieved a major reduction in both the frequency and severity of accidents.
The progress made is a result of the Group’s Health & Safety management system, which defines the required safety levels for all its units.
In order to achieve the target of zero fatalities and keep Lost Time Incidents (LTIs) to a minimum, LAVA:
- Informs its employees and contractors of the risks involved in their activities and provides them with appropriate training;
- Supervises systematic implementation of safety standards;
- Implements incident reporting procedures and performs regular checks;
- Identifies and informs of Best Practices and their implementation by all units.

Health and Safety are top priorities for LAVA S.A. The company implements a stringent safety policy for its employees and contractors.
For the implementation of our Health and Safety policy, we take measures that concern the necessary means, equipment and infrastructure for a safe working place; apply Standards and Procedures for each task performed; and organise training courses to foster a common safety understanding and behaviour among all employees.
